(she/her): Art Therapist
Teens & Young Adults

Not traditional therapy

If you’re someone who struggles with self-esteem, if you have a hard time setting boundaries and speaking up for yourself- you might want to consider art therapy.

Art therapy gives you permission to express yourself as you tend to your mental health through creative exploration & play. Even if you haven’t considered yourself a “creative” person before, you will find that art therapy frees you of the unnecessary restrictions you’ve been holding yourself to.

If visual art is not your jam, we’ll find what your jam is. Maybe that’s talk or music therapy. Whatever it is, we’ll find the creative approach that best suits your needs.

Tap into what you have forgotten about yourself.

In just a few months, you’ll begin to feel more empowered and find that your confidence is increasing. You will strengthen your self-advocacy skills and be able to set healthy boundaries for yourself and the people you interact with.

You’ll develop the habit of checking in with yourself so you can make intentional decisions rather than simply react. The goal is to get you to a point in your mental health journey where you don’t even need me anymore!

If you’re ready to reclaim your voice, build your confidence, and tap into your creativity, I’d love to work with you.

It was time for a change in my life.

After working for 20 years in corporate America in the entertainment industry, I realized that I wanted a new challenge. I wasn’t feeling satisfied anymore, and my life needed a big shift. I knew that I wanted to move into a space where I was working directly with people.

I grew up around family and friends who have struggled with mental illness. Many folks I knew also struggled to get help due to the stigma around mental health. I knew that I always spoke their language and that I wanted to support them.

I started investigating art and psychology, and realized that there is a field of art therapy. The more I explored, the more it felt like me. I explored what it is that drives me every day, and I found my passions in art and psychology.

I have a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy and Creativity Development from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. I am a Registered Art Therapist #18-036 with the National Art Therapy Credentialing Board.

My silly side

As a LGBTQ+ ally/accomplice of Jamaican decent, for me everything is purple—I have purple hair, purple nails, purple is my thing.

I also love cartoons, action flicks, and especially superheroes, and on my days off I like to catch up on my TV series. I’m unapologetic, and part of my self-care is to watch whatever the heck I want!
