How To Respond to Invasive Questions About Your Body and Gender with Kristen Crowe (she/they)

Society has normalized asking the most atrocious, invasive questions ranging from "what are you?" (in regards to race/ethnicity/gender/etc.) to "have you lost weight?" to inquiring about medical procedures (in regards to trans/NB folks). There's a lot to unravel here and we're doing it.

  • For the LGBTQ+ squad, dodging invasive questions about your body and gender can feel like an unsolicited pop quiz on the fly

  • Setting boundaries with a sprinkle of sass can be an effective strategy to handle these situations

  • But let's not forget, seeking therapy can be a saving grace when faced with repeated intrusive questioning
